Project background

Brief
1 Reserve Road is a new purpose-built facility, consolidating 10 NSW Health agencies into one building in St Leonards. This new building also enhances the public precinct, providing a pedestrian network including a pedestrian connection between St Leonards Station and the North Shore Hospital campus.

The brief was to create a signage and wayfinding solution for both the exterior of the building and surrounding precinct and an integrated interior signage and graphics scheme. With no existing identity CITIZEN’s brief was to create a cohesive visual language, unifying the building and complimenting the interiors.

Solution
CITIZEN designed a signage solution that resolved both interior and exterior needs for wayfinding. The interior signage was designed to reflect shapes in the interior architecture and provide a subtle overlay to the bright and vibrant space. Muted eucalyptus green unifies the scheme and compliments the vivid interior colours. 

Custom illustrated end of trip graphics were designed to link the interiors to the otherwise concrete basement. 

Exterior signage provided a functional yet considered layer to the exterior and precinct. Adopting a monotone aesthetic this suite of signs were designed to be functional yet elegant in their simplicity.
