Blacktown International Sports Park was originally developed as a major multi-sport park for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, the park has continued to grow as both an elite sport and community venue. The site spans some 55 hectares.

In 2017 the City developed a masterplan to enhance the Sports Park over the next 20 years. The master plan aims to strengthen the outreach and recognition of the sports precinct not just for the immediate future but for generations to come. The first phase of this vision was the development of a centre of training excellence, know as BEST Hub.

Citizen were engaged to develop a wayfinding strategy to increase awareness of the facilities and to encourage greater movement through the park and utilisation by walkers, runners and cyclists. A key design objective was to create an identity for the Sports Park through wayfinding. The vibrant gradient suggestive of movement is bold and provides highly identifiable markers across this vast site.
